Inspired by the traditional Tibetan dress, the Tso Dress is a fusion of unlikely textures. The black pinstriped fabric of the bodice contrasts with the smokey blue of the lower skirt, reminiscent of the frozen lakes of Ladakh (Tso). The lower skirt, which has a tie-up on the side is crafted from the traditional sarong of the Meitei, Phanek and is adorn with temple border, locally known as "Moirang Phijin". The main black pin-striped fabric is handwoven and locally known as Kumjingbi. Kumjingbi, in its original form, is worn as a sarong.
